Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and diligent Pastry Chef to join our fast growing, multi-cuisine restaurant in Goa. The Chef is responsible to prepare consistent, high
- quality food products, ensure courteous, professional, efficient and flexible serviceand maintain restaurant's operational standards. The Chef will be also responsible for assisting Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef in cooking and then ensuring that all stations are clean. Ensure proper storage of food items/raw materials in freezers/refrigerators and ensure proper portioning of dishes, and food garnishing.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Developing and testing new recipes for pastries, desserts, and baked goods. This involves creativity and understanding of flavor combinations and textures.
- Overseeing the production and baking process to ensure quality and consistency in all items prepared.
- Collaborating with other chefs and management to plan menus that include pastries and desserts that complement the overall dining experience.
- Selecting and sourcing high-quality ingredients such as flour, sugar, butter, fruits, and chocolate.
- Managing the pastry kitchen, including ordering supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment.
- Ensuring that all pastries and desserts are presented attractively, often working closely with decorators and pastry assistants.
- Monitoring the freshness and quality of ingredients and finished products to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
- Supervising and training assistant pastry chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation of the pastry department.
- Being able to work under pressure and adapt recipes and production techniques to meet the needs of special dietary requirements or specific customer requests.
Overall, a pastry chef plays a crucial role in a culinary team, bringing sweetness and creativity to the dining experience with their delicious creations.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
- Perfect Knowledge of pastry/bakery department
- Exceptional teamwork skills and an eye for detail
- Able to take responsibility
- Be Customer focused and give priority for better customer service
- Enjoys working in a lively, fast-paced environment, someone who lives his hobby and is passionate about cooking and food
- This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs or more
- Standing or walking for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform is also required
- Flexibility to work in changing circumstances
Job Timings:
Should be available to work between 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM and 11:30PM Monday through Sunday with one weekly off.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
