**Job Title**:Desktop Engineer
**Job location**: Sector 66, Gurugram, Haryana
**Employment Type**: Full Time
**Experience Required**: 4-5 years
**Job Summary**:
The Desktop Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, maintaining computer systems, and assisting with the deployment and configuration of desktops, laptops, and other related equipment. The Desktop Engineer will collaborate with the IT team to ensure a stable and secure computing environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Hardware and Software Support**:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems on desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Ensure that antivirus and security software is up to date and functioning correctly.
- Provide assistance with hardware setup and replacement, including printers, scanners, and monitors.
- **User Assistance**:
- Assist users with account setup, password resets, and access issues.
3. **Desktop Management**:
- Manage and maintain an inventory of desktops, laptops, and related equipment.
- Deploy and decommission computer systems as needed.
- Keep desktop configurations up to date, including patches and updates.
**4. Network Connectivity**:
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including LAN and Wi-Fi.
- Configure and manage network printers and scanners.
- Collaborate with network administrators to resolve network-related problems.
**5. Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
- Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Generate reports on system performance and support ticket trends.
**6. Security and Compliance**:
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures.
- Implement security updates and patches in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining data backup and disaster recovery plans.
**Required Skills and Qualifications (Personality/Attributes/Traits)**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, etc.) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and office productivity software.
- Familiarity with hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
- Good English speaking skills
