**Position: Indian Tandoor Chef**
**Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates**
**Job Overview**:
Key Responsibilities:
- **Prepare and Cook Tandoor Dishes**: Prepare a variety of Indian dishes using traditional tandoor cooking techniques, including naan, roti, kebabs, and tandoori meats.
- **Menu Development**: Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to develop and refine the tandoor section of the menu, ensuring a balance of classic and innovative dishes.
- **Ingredient Management**: Source, select, and manage fresh ingredients and spices necessary for tandoor cooking, maintaining high standards of quality and authenticity.
- **Cooking and Baking**: Skillfully operate tandoor ovens to cook and bake items to perfection, ensuring consistent taste, texture, and presentation.
- **Food Safety and Hygiene**: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following all health and safety regulations.
- **Training and Supervision**: Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and assistants, ensuring they understand tandoor cooking techniques and kitchen protocols.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- **Customer Interaction**: Occasionally interact with customers to explain dishes, receive feedback, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Tandoor Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting, preferably in the Middle East.
- **Culinary Skills**: Expertise in traditional Indian tandoor cooking techniques and familiarity with Indian spices and ingredients.
- **Creativity**: Ability to innovate and create new dishes while maintaining the authenticity of traditional Indian cuisine.
- **Communication**: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team and interact with customers.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and withstand long hours in a hot kitchen.
- **Education**: Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not required.
