Duties

Basic Function of the Position:
Basic Function of the Position: The position is in the Regional Security Office (RSO), U.S. Embassy New Delhi. The incumbent will be required to serve as a Bodyguard (BG) in the execution of protective security operations for the U.S. Ambassador/Chief of Mission (COM), and other designated or visiting U.S. government officials as directed. Under the supervision of the Bodyguard Supervisor and the Regional Security Officer to the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi the incumbent will manage to protect COM from harm. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Note: The incumbent must be available to work variable shifts, with a 24 hour on-call schedule, and able to travel outside the capital city on a need basis.

Qualifications and Evaluations

**Requirements**:
**EXPERIENCE**:
This position requires two years of private sector, government, police, or military experience in one or more of the following categories: bodyguard, armed escort, law enforcement officer, combat arms or infantry solider.

**Education Requirements**:
This position requires successful completion of Secondary School (Class X or higher).

**Level 1, Basic**:

- Examples: Basic greetings, phrases, numbers and signs.

**Level 2, Limited**:

- Examples: Directions, simple questions

**Level 4, Fluent**:

- Examples: Infer nuanced meaning from complex documents

**Level 5, Translator**:

- Examples: Certified professional translator in this language

**Evaluations**:
**LANGUAGE**:
**Level 2 (Limited**) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.**

**AND**

**Level 2 (Limited) in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.**

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid Indian Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is required.**

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
