Duties

Basic Function of the Position:
This position is located in the General Services Office (GSO), U.S. Embassy, New Delhi.

The incumbent will operate safely a fully armored vehicle (FAV) to transport the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Consul General (CG), and/or Principal Officer (PO) within the city and the surrounding areas.

Ensures that the vehicle is in clean and serviceable condition and performs minor preventive maintenance. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Note:
The driving test on armored vehicle will be conducted for this position.
Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:
The position requires three years of professional full-time/incidental driving experience.

Education Requirements:

This position requires completion of High school (Class X).

Level 1, Basic:

Level 2, Limited:

  • Examples: Directions, simple questions

Level 4, Fluent:

  • Examples: Infer nuanced meaning from complex documents

Level 5, Translator:

  • Examples: Certified professional translator in this language

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:

Level 2 (Limited Knowledge) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.

Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Valid Indian Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is required.

"Applicants must have the visual ability to recognize and distinguish among traffic control signals and devices showing standard red, green and amber colors. Selected applicant/s will be required to undergo the mandatory medical testing before starting in the job''. (This may be tested)

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
