Duties

Basic Function of the Position:
The position is located in the FAC-Facilities Office, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi.

The incumbent will serve as a commercial vehicle driver to operate a wide variety of heavy duty vehicles such as pick-up truck, water delivery truck, fork lift, cherry picker/lifter, BOB CAT and passenger vans to transport passengers and materials for the Facility Management Operations Embassy wide.

S/he will be responsible to accurately complete trip tickets and motor vehicle usage reports and ensure that the vehicle is maintained in good operating condition.

S/he will report any vehicle damage or irregularities to dispatcher. S/he will work on emergency duty hours for providing necessary services to the Embassy residences. S/he will support motor pool for VIP visits. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned by the office.

Note:

The incumbent will be expected to read and speak English well enough to understand road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with law enforcement officers and the public.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

This position requires minimum two years of full-time/incidental experience as a professional truck driver.

Education Requirements:

This position requires the successful completion of Senior Secondary School (Class XII).

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:

Level 2 (Limited) in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.**
AND

Level 2 (Limited) in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Valid Indian Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license is required.

The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
