**Sr. Captain/Captain**

As a Restaurant Captain, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional service and dining experiences for our guests. You will oversee the front-of-house operations, lead the service team, and coordinate with kitchen staff to deliver seamless service. Here's a detailed overview of the key responsibilities:
**Guest Relations and Service Excellence**:

- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and ensure their comfort and satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
- Provide personalized recommendations on menu items, specials, and wine pairings, based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Anticipate guests' needs and preferences, proactively addressing any requests or concerns to ensure a memorable dining experience.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times, fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff alike.

**Team Leadership and Coordination**:

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers, to ensure efficient and smooth service.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to team members, provide clear instructions, and lead by example in delivering exceptional service standards.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, menu changes, and service expectations, motivating and inspiring the team to perform at their best.

**Order Management and Table Service**:

- Manage table assignments, reservations, and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and maximize restaurant capacity.
- Take and relay food and beverage orders accurately to the kitchen and bar staff, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to guest preferences.
- Oversee table setups, cleanliness, and presentation, ensuring that each table is properly set with utensils, glassware, and condiments.
- Monitor the pacing of service to ensure that courses are delivered promptly and that guests' needs are met in a timely manner.

**Upselling and Revenue Generation**:

- Promote menu items, specials, and beverage offerings to guests, actively upselling and maximizing revenue opportunities.
- Recommend premium dishes, wines, and add-on items to enhance the dining experience and increase average check size.
- Encourage guests to provide feedback and suggestions, actively soliciting opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.

**Training and Development**:

- Train new front-of-house staff members on restaurant policies, service standards, and customer service protocols.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to team members, fostering their growth and development.
- Conduct periodic refresher training sessions to reinforce service standards, product knowledge, and upselling techniques.

**Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution**:

- Address guest complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the guests' satisfaction while maintaining the restaurant's reputation.
- Act as a liaison between guests and management, escalating issues as necessary and following up to ensure resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Handle challenging situations with diplomacy, tact, and composure, de-escalating tensions and maintaining a positive dining atmosphere.

**Quality Control and Standards Compliance**:

- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as restaurant policies and procedures, by all front-of-house staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of the dining area, restrooms, and service stations to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with standards.
- Monitor food presentation, portion sizes, and overall quality to ensure consistency and adherence to brand standards.
