Job brief:

As a "Ancillary business development manager" at The Hosteller, you will play a crucial role in building non-core sales funnel for the company including but not limited to F&B, events, concierge, memberships, partnerships, merchandises, etc. through company's D2C point of sales, physical stores and partner channels. Think of this role as - creating additional ARPU from non-core products offerings (in our case, the core product is accommodation; everything else is non-core) by capitalising on the company's ever growing community of local and global travellers.

Job responsibilities:

Understanding the hotel/hostel industry, company's vision, various product lines, growth trajectory, user demographics, GTM strategy, etc.
Understanding the travel/hospitality/tourism sectors to strategise/develop various ancillary product lines, including events, travel desk, trips/treks/adventure activities, merchandise store, membership program, etc.
Strategising various aspects to grow the ancillary revenue segment via D2C channels
Driving innovative initiatives to develop "first to the market" products to enhance user experience
Executing various sales strategies & achieving targets
Developing various alliances & partnerships
Managing long-term relationships with various stakeholders
Promoting and empowering local businesses to create unique experiences
Exploring opportunities that drive profit, create value for clients, and encourage innovation; challenging existing processes/systems/products to make improvements

Qualifications:

Masters degree in hospitality, business or a related field
Min. 5 years experience in hotel/hostel/travel/tourism industry particularly in business development, events, community activities, sales, etc.
Experience with experiential and curated products, up-selling, local cultures, etc.
Proficient in revenue management software and tools (e.g., RMS, PMS, channel managers)
Strong mathematical, analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
