Inviting applications for the role of Senior Manager - Counsel, Contracting, AI and Technology

We are seeking an experienced Contract Counsel to join our legal team, specializing in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating SaaS and software agreements for technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in contracts related to emerging technologies, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, and agentic AI systems and have a proven track record of effectively drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with clients in a corporate setting.

Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate both simple and complex software and SaaS agreements, including master SaaS, license agreements, and other contract documents such as statements of work, amendments, orders, and change requests.

Provide specialized legal guidance on contracts involving AI technologies, addressing unique challenges and opportunities in this evolving space.

Assist other members of the commercial legal team and serve as a subject matter expert on AI-related contractual matters, with focus on intellectual property rights, warranties, indemnification provisions, and third-party liabilities.

Be generally familiar with contractual terms from major LLM (Large Language Model) providers and how they may impact the rights or terms that the company can ultimately offer to its customers, with focus on intellectual property rights, warranties, indemnification provisions. 

Stay current with emerging legal frameworks governing AI technologies, including the EU AI Act, data privacy regulations, and industry standards.

Support business teams in understanding legal implications of AI and technology integration into existing products and services, including what impact that may have on existing contract structures and what risks will need to be covered.

The person would be expected to work with a cross-functional team while completely owning the documents assigned to the person.

The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy developing relationships with stakeholders and be a trusted legal advisor.

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications/skills

Law degree (LLB) or higher, from a reputed university.

Ability to work from Genpact Prestige Tech Park office in Bangalore.

Ability to work modified hours to ensure some overlap with stakeholders in EU and US.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

Experienced in coordinating multi-task responsibilities and projects while interacting with cross-functional teams.

Experience with outsourcing work preferred, not required.

Must be solution oriented.

Organizational skills and/or project management skills.
