Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

i. Theme Development and Customization:

Creating custom WordPress themes from scratch, ensuring they're responsive, optimized, and adhere to web standards.

Modifying existing themes to meet specific design and functionality requirements.

Understanding child themes and their role in safe customization.

ii. Plugin Development and Customization:

Developing custom plugins to extend WordPress functionality based on unique project needs.

Customizing existing plugins to adjust their behavior or integrate them with other website elements.

iii. WordPress Core Proficiency:

In-depth knowledge of the WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, custom post types, taxonomies, and the REST API.

Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within the WordPress framework.

iv. Front-End Development:

HTML, CSS, JavaScript:

Strong command of these foundational web technologies for building the front-end structure and styling of WordPress sites.

Integrating JavaScript libraries (like jQuery) for enhanced interactivity and dynamic elements.

v. Responsive Design:

Ensuring layouts and functionality adapt seamlessly across different screen sizes and devices.

vi. Cross-Browser Compatibility:

Testing websites on various browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc.) to fix inconsistencies and ensure the best user experience.

vii. Performance Optimization:

Speed and Efficiency:

Implementing techniques to reduce page load times, optimize image sizes, use caching, and minimize HTTP requests.

Troubleshooting slow websites and pinpointing performance bottlenecks.

viii. SEO Considerations:

Understanding how development decisions impact search engine rankings. Building semantically correct HTML, using proper image optimization, and considering sitemap generation.

ix. Security:

Staying Up-To-Date:

Keeping WordPress core, themes, and plugins updated to address security vulnerabilities.

x. Security Best Practices:

Implementing measures to prevent common attacks like SQL injections and cross-site scripting (XSS). Familiarity with security plugins or hardening techniques.
Requirements

Criteria:

  • Experienced in the relevant field for minimum 4 - 6+ years of Web Development independently.

  • Sound hands on experience in Wordpress and website optimizations

  • Exposure to developing global level websites would be a definite plus.

  • Proven accomplishments in the Web development areas with applicable methods of modern age UX and UI trends.
