Company Description

Retail Scan is India's first 100% customized in-store solutions company that helps manufacturers of consumer packaged goods gain insights on store-related issues affecting product execution and sales. With a presence in the top 35 towns and cities across India, Retail Scan covers over 50,000 stores monthly. Our primary objective is to increase clients' sales throughput by optimizing shelf space, improving in-store visibility, and ensuring efficient execution of sales and trade programs. Retail Scan also innovates with cutting-edge technologies, including image recognition and interpretation in retail execution.

Responsibilities

●    Assessing and prioritizing project requirements, feature requests and developing work schedules for the team.

●    Provide recommendations for improving system architecture, database design and integration of third party tools.

●    Coordinating with development teams, both internal & external to determine application requirements.

●    Delegating tasks and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals.

●    Liaising with team members, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard.

●    Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible.

●    Analyzing existing operations and scheduling meetings to discuss improvements.

●    Updating work schedules and performing troubleshooting as required.

●    Motivating staff and creating a space where they can ask questions and voice their concerns.

●    Being transparent with the team about challenges, failures, and successes.

●    Writing progress reports and delivering presentations to the relevant stakeholders.

●    Reviewing code written by team members to ensure it is scalable, follows standards and best practices.

●    Writing scalable code using the Python programming language.

●    Testing and debugging applications.

●    Reprogramming existing databases to improve functionality.

●    Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments.

Requirements

●    Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field.

●    Minimum 5 years of experience as a Python Developer with expert knowledge of Python and Django frameworks, including 3 years experience in leading a team

●    Experience in working on projects consisting of web apps, mobile apps and APIs developed in Python Django, Celery, Elastic Search, React.

●    Experience working with relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Postgres.

●    Experience with DevOps, specifically AWS EC2 deployment, server provisioning and Docker implementation.

●    Experience integrating services such as AWS S3, payment gateway and other third party services.

●    Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.

●    Strong leadership and organizational abilities.

●    Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients, including external consultants.

●    Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.

●    Deep understanding of multi-process architecture and the threading limitations of Python.

●    Familiarity with testing tools such as Pytest or Unittest.
