Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Manager - Business Development. The Senior Manager will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with business development, including identifying potential clients, building and maintaining client relationships, negotiating contracts, and developing strategies to expand the company's client base. The role requires strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Background: Should have a bachelor's degree in engineering (specialization in Chemistry, Materials Science or electrochemistry is an added advantage)

Someone with over 5 years of experience in the energy storage industry, starting from R&D roles and transitioning into business development will be right fit for this role.

The person should have a deep understanding of battery technologies, manufacturing processes, and market dynamics.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Technical Proficienc y: A strong technical background in battery chemistry, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards. Should effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Market Insight : Should keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the battery market and utilizes this knowledge to identify market opportunities and develop strategic business plans.
  • Strategic Thinker : Should have a knack for identifying strategic partnerships, alliances, and opportunities for market expansion. Analyzing market data and customer feedback is also a critical aspect inorder to develop innovative strategies that drive business growth.
  • Relationship Building : Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and industry partners. Also, should be skilled in negotiating contracts, resolving conflicts, and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Sales and Marketing Acumen : Should have a proven track record in sales and marketing, with experience in developing marketing campaigns, generating leads, and closing deals. Should understand the importance of customer segmentation and targeted marketing strategies.
  • Problem Solver : Should be a proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and can quickly identify challenges, develop solutions, and implement action plans to overcome obstacles and achieve business objectives.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written is a prerequisite for this role. Responsible for Effective articulation of complex ideas, present proposals, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the battery market, including potential customers, partners, and markets.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and proposals to potential clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, trade regulations, and market dynamics to adapt strategies accordingly and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and marketing to ensure alignment of business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and licensing deals with customers and partners.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and opportunities using CRM software.
