Job Description:
Position Summary: The National Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and expanding the market presence across India. This role involves strategic planning, setting up a comprehensive retail distribution network, and managing both urban and rural sales channels. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing sales team, manage key customer relationships, and drive growth in the food and consumer products segment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets and market share growth across B2B and B2C channels.
Network Development: Set up and expand a nationwide retail distribution network, including agents and partners in both rural and urban areas.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, training, and motivation.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams.
Market Penetration: Drive sales efforts across various channels, focusing on both hunting (new business development) and farming (account management).
Performance Monitoring: Monitor sales performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
Customer Engagement: Manage key B2B customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to align sales strategies with company goals.
Innovation Adoption: Promote and facilitate the adoption of innovative solutions in the sales process.
Proposal Management: Analyze and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other business opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; and a Master’s from reputed School
Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in sales, with significant experience in the FMCG sector, out of which atleast 5-8 years in leadership role in Sales and managing national P&L..
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the FMCG market, including retail distribution, B2B, and B2C sales.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage large sales teams.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across India.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Work Location:
Pan India: Extensive travel required to oversee regional operations and engage with stakeholders.
