Senior Executive

As a Health, Safety & Environment individual, he or she will be in charge of ensuring compliance with occupational health &safety andd environmental rules, with the primary purpose of ensuring a safe working environment and preventing injuries and accidents.

Roles and Responsibility

Support plant team to identify and correction of Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Act. Drive implementation of global HSE Standards at plant. Lead HSE initiatives and programs at Plant Escalate HSE issues to Top Management to avoid business interruption and loss including personal injuries and property loss. Develop and maintain compliance to all applicable HSE Legal requirement as per local and central requirements. To advise concerned departments in a factory in planning and organizing measures necessary for the effective control of personal injuries. To check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent personal injuries and property loss. To advise on safety aspects in all job studies, and to carry out detailed job safety studies of selected jobs and assist to write down HIRA, JHA and SOPs. Conduct Mock and evacuation drills. To advise the purchasing and stores department in ensuring high quality and availability of personal protective equipment; To provide advice on matters related to carrying out plant safety inspections ; To conduct HSE training and safety tool box for all employees including Contractor Employees To provide advice on matters related to carrying out plant safety inspections ; To carry out plant safety inspections and Safety Audits in order to observe the physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by the workers and to render advice on measures to be adopted for removing unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions by workers To render advice on matters related to reporting and investigation of industrial accidents and diseases Coordinate investigation of reportable incident To investigate the case of industrial diseases contracted and dangerous occurrences. To advise on the maintenance of such records as are necessary relating to accidents, dangerous occurrences and industrial diseases ; Conduct Safety Committees Meetings and keep track on MoM To organize in association with the concerned departments campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedures ;and To design and conduct either independently or in collaboration with the training department, suitable training and educational programs for the prevention of personal injuries.

Role Specific Competencies:

Head Safety officer in a specific location. END to END safety activities. Maintain an organized and orderly facility. Communicate hazards to everyone in the facility. Follow basic safety procedures. Use engineering controls. Use PPE as needed or required. Follow requirements for high-hazard chemicals. Prepare for accidents and emergencies.

Education Qualification:

/ B.E / DE with Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety Preferably Regional Labour Institute.

Experience:

4 to 5 years, preferably from the manufacturing industry.
