The Senior Manager on the Renewals team will report into the Customer Success function and provide leadership support for the global team.Primary responsibilities will include:Directly managing a teamExecuting renewal process improvementsAchieving financial and strategic targets for minimizing attrition, positioning favorable terms and boosting incremental revenueDeveloping and implementing renewal playbooks to ensure execution of the larger Anthology renewal, upsell and cross-sell strategiesEstablishing, documenting, and monitoring compliance with best practices for all internal processes including, but not limited to, Opportunity Management, Data Quality and accuracy, Quotes and ForecastingAccurately maintaining/updating a rolling 120 day forecast of your team and communicating any renewal risk to internal resources to develop resolution strategiesWorking collaboratively with the internal account management, customer success and channel sales teams to develop and deliver win/win proposals which incorporate product/service expansion opportunities and maximize contract valueEnsuring quality of workflows to ensure timely processing of renewal contractsImplementing system automation strategies to improve overall renewal experienceWorking with teams to uncover roadblocks or risks and demonstrating strong account management and commercial capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closureProviding business leaders with complete visibility to renewals with regular updates on status and forecasts and soliciting executive involvement as requiredProactively positioning product releases and new offerings to increase customer success and sense of value for their investment with AnthologyUsing internal sales management and quoting tools successfullyThis role may require approximately 20% travelThe Candidate:Required skills/qualifications:Bachelor’s degreeExperience working in a Renewals, Customer Success or Account Management role at a Software-as-a-Service technology companyMinimum 10 years’ experience in consultative selling, renewals, customer success or account management in an enterprise/solution and/or technical sales environment with 6-10 years in a leadership capacityStrong internal and external relationship building skillsDemonstrated financial acumen and proficiency with Salesforce and ExcelHighly developed customer service and customer satisfaction focus with an ability to navigate complex contracting/negotiationsAdvanced problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to multitask and continuously perform against varied responsibilities for both customer success and timely renewalsPast success in operating within a fast-paced, multi-disciplined virtual teamExcellent organizational, oral, written, and presentation skillsFluency in written and spoken EnglishPreferred skills/qualifications:Knowledge of channel partner relationships, higher education, corporate, and government procurement processesStrong command of MS Excel, SalesForce and Customer Success platformsExperience in a position with a focus on retention and expansionAdvanced degreeThis job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required.
