Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Indian Operations Head to lead and manage our paper cone production operations in India, covering both bulk and retail formats. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing efficiency, quality control, regulatory compliance, and clear technical communication with global clients. This role also involves oversight of vendor partnerships and deep involvement in packaging-related processes. The candidate must have strong English communication skills, proven operational leadership, and familiarity with both domestic and export packaging standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management

  2. Oversee end-to-end operations for paper cone production in India.

  3. Manage both bulk and retail production lines, ensuring timely delivery and cost-efficiency.

  4. Drive productivity and implement lean manufacturing best practices.

  5. Vendor Management

  6. Identify, evaluate, and manage key suppliers and service vendors for raw materials, packaging, and logistics.

  7. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements.

  8. Ensure vendors meet quality, compliance, and delivery standards.

  9. Compliance & Quality Control

  10. Ensure compliance with all local regulatory, environmental, and labor standards.

  11. Implement and monitor robust quality control systems for both production formats.

  12. Work closely with third-party auditors and certification agencies as required.

  13. Customer Communication & Technical Support

  14. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for global and domestic customers.

  15. Communicate technical updates, material changes, or improvements in product design.

  16. Coordinate customer-specific QC requirements and facilitate sample approvals.

  17. Packaging Oversight

  18. Oversee packaging development and execution for both bulk and retail formats.

  19. Ensure packaging meets functional, aesthetic, and compliance standards for target markets.

  20. Work with design, sourcing, and production teams to continuously improve packaging efficiency and presentation.

  21. Team Leadership & Development

  22. Lead, train, and mentor factory-level managers and teams.

  23. Build a performance-driven culture with a focus on quality, efficiency, and accountability.

  24. Reporting & Coordination

  25. Provide regular operational reports and insights to senior management.

  26. Coordinate closely with logistics, procurement, and global sales teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in paper products or packaging-related industries.

  • Proven track record in managing large-scale production, vendor ecosystems, and QC systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English – must be customer-facing.

  • Strong knowledge of Indian compliance requirements (labor, safety, environment).

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly organized.

  • Proficiency with reporting tools, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Packaging Technology, or related field.

  • Experience in export manufacturing or servicing international clients.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, FSC, and other relevant certification processes.
