Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong background in material procurement and management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various fabrics, including Natural, Polyester, and Synthetic materials, and bring expertise in PVC-coated fabrics. This role requires managing materials, testing parameters, costing, and vendor relations to support our shoe production.

Note: This is a purchase position and not engineering or technical profile. We need candidates who has knowledge or experience related to different types of fabric and ready to work in supply chain division in purchase profile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and production requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, industry trends, and cost-effective purchasing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the direct raw material needs and specifications.
  • Raw materials expertise:
  • Synthetic materials: Work with materials like PU, PVC, and other man-made alternatives to leather, ensuring they meet cost and quality requirements.
  • Textiles and fabrics: Manage fabrics like canvas, mesh, nylon, and other textiles, commonly used in athletic and casual footwear.
  • Rubber: Oversee sourcing of rubber (natural or synthetic) for soles and EVA for midsole cushioning.
  • Thread: Strong and durable threads are used for stitching different parts of the shoe together.
  • Other Materials: Handle foam, padding, adhesives, threads, dyes, and metal components used in shoe production
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on factors such as cost, quality, and reliability for raw materials purchase.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality materials.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure favorable agreements and optimize costs without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in line with production schedules and inventory needs, monitoring shipments to ensure accurate stock levels
  • Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure purchased materials meet the required standards and resolve any quality issues with suppliers
  • Identify and assess supply chain risks, implementing strategies to ensure a reliable and continuous supply of materials.

What are we looking for

  • Bachelors degree in textile or design.
  • 5-8 years of experience in textile engineering, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of PVC-coated fabrics and various textiles used in footwear manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and conduct weekly site visits for compliance and material checks.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to travel for vendor visits and to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management returns processing and claims management.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday (Alternate Saturday off)

Work Location: Delhi (Peeragarhi)
