Established in 1995, the company provides a comprehensive online marketplace for companies to transact residual and surplus assets, including raw materials, machinery, and industrial by-products. They also offer services for e-procurement, logistics, tender management, and the sale of repossessed vehicles.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to drive business growth and revenue from the retail and FMCG sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, client acquisition, and market expansion. This role requires a deep understanding of the retail and FMCG sectors and their procurement cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to drive growth in the retail and FMCG sectors.
- Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, including pitching, negotiating, and signing agreements.
- Work closely with the marketing and product teams to create tailored solutions for the specific needs of clients.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the retail and FMCG industries.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, competition, and industry developments to inform business strategies.
- Prepare and deliver regular business reports, including sales forecasts, pipeline status, and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of business development initiatives.
Requirements:
- 8-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the Retail and FMCG sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, market trends, and client needs within the retail and FMCG industries.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with online auction platforms, surplus inventory management, or logistics would be a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
