Business Development Executive

Location: Chennai, India

Our client is India's leading and most reputed private online auction portal, operating in the specialized space of buying and selling surplus inventory. Established in 1995, the company provides a comprehensive online marketplace for companies to transact residual and surplus assets, including raw materials, machinery, and industrial by-products. They also offer services for e-procurement, logistics, tender management, and the sale of repossessed vehicles.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Executive to drive business growth and revenue from the Steel & Iron Industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, client acquisition, and market expansion. This role requires a deep understanding of Iron, Steel or Manufacturing and their procurement cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to drive growth in the Steel, iron & Manufacturing Industries.
  • Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, including pitching, negotiating, and signing agreements.
  • Work closely with the marketing and product teams to create tailored solutions for the specific needs of clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the Steel, Iron & Manufacturing.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, competition, and industry developments to inform business strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver regular business reports, including sales forecasts, pipeline status, and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the Iron, Steel & Manufacturing Industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, market trends, and client needs within the Iron, Steel & Manufacturing Industry..
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with online auction platforms, surplus inventory management, or logistics would be a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
