Job Title

Application Development Advisor

The Application Development Advisor position will represent Client Engineering as part of the Endpoint Development and Analytics team. The team provides application development, automation, data warehousing, and data analytics services to support Cigna technology strategy.

Job Overview

The position supports the application development needs for Client Engineering and will have the opportunity to support and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the Cigna Technology organization. The candidate will primarily work within a rapid application Oracle development environment but will have the opportunity to work with additional development and database technologies. The candidate will also work with stakeholders to develop reports supporting analysis of endpoint performance and planning. Responsibilities include designing new functionality, enhancements to existing processes, performance tuning, production support, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Designing new functionality, enhancements to existing processes, performance tuning, production support, and technical documentation.

Design, development, testing, and implementation of custom applications. This includes both front end and back-end development within Oracle and Oracle Application Express.

• Work within an Agile Kanban development team to deliver value to the organization
• Meet with stakeholders to define development efforts
• Troubleshoot issues that arise throughout the development process or in production
• Monitor running processes and recommend improvements
• Ability to establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships across the Client's organization.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Overall, 11-13 years of experience required

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience with Oracle products, including APEX application development.
• Demonstrated experience with analytic and visualization tools.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and technical skills.
• Oracle database products, including APEX development.
• Technical skills that will benefit the candidate in the role:
• Experience with common web development technologies
• PL/SQL, SQL: Ability to query and update database objects and datasets.
• Tableau development: Understanding of data analysis and visualization principles.
• Knowledge/experience with Microsoft BI or other visualization tools
• Self-motivated, organized team player who collaborates well with coworkers and upholds high integrity.
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, contribute solutions
• Ability to prioritize and meet timelines and deadlines
