Job Description – Assistant HR Manager

Job Purpose:

The Assistant HR Manager supports the HR Manager in overseeing day-to-day HR operations, implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, recruitment, training, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. This role acts as a bridge between employees and management, fostering a positive work culture.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Assist in workforce planning and manpower requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment process: job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and induction programs.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Address employee queries and grievances effectively.
  • Support HR initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement activities, welfare measures, and events.

3. HR Operations & Administration:

  • Maintain and update employee records, HRMS, and attendance systems.
  • Ensure timely payroll coordination with finance.
  • Handle employee confirmations, transfers, and exit formalities.

4. Performance Management:

  • Support implementation of performance appraisal systems.
  • Assist in tracking employee performance and maintaining appraisal records.
  • Coordinate with managers to address performance-related concerns.

5. Training & Development:

  • Identify training needs through performance reviews and feedback.
  • Coordinate internal and external training programs.
  • Maintain training records and assess effectiveness.

6. Compliance & Policy Implementation:

  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, company policies, and HR regulations.
  • Assist in drafting/updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Gratuity, etc.).

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of HR functions and labor laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution ability.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HR software (HRMS).
  • Organizational and time-management skills.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in HR, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory/assistant manager role.
