Job Description

Designation: Manager – Import & Export Documentation

Location: HO,Mumbai

Reports To: Head – Sales & Marketing (for functional alignment)

Department: Sales & Marketing (Documentation Support)

Role & Context

To lead and manage all documentation and compliance requirements related to import and

export activities, ensuring smooth execution of shipments in line with regulatory and company

requirements.

Key Responsibilities

● Oversee preparation, verification, and maintenance of all import and export

documentation in compliance with statutory regulations (UAE, DGFT, Customs, etc.).

● Manage and monitor documentation for Advance Licenses, Applications, and

Closures.

● Liaise with logistics, finance, and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely

documentation flow.

● Coordinate with clearing agents, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth

movement of goods.

● Maintain and supervise proper records of all documentation for audits and statutory

inspections.

● Ensure strict compliance with all government rules, export-import policies, and

company procedures.

● Provide guidance and support to internal teams for accurate and timely documentation

related to shipment execution.

● Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of documentation

procedures.

● Lead and mentor junior staff involved in documentation activities (if applicable).

Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Commerce/International Trade or equivalent.

● Diploma/Certification in Export-Import Management preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

● Strong expertise in import and export documentation procedures.

● In-depth understanding of statutory requirements related to shipping, customs, and

DGFT.

● Excellent written and oral communication skills.

● Proficiency in MS Office and documentation/reporting tools.

● Strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills.

Experience

● 8–10 years of experience in import/export documentation, with proven ability to

manage end-to-end processes independently.

● Experience in the cable manufacturing industry preferred.
