Reports To: Head Projects & Maintenance
Travel: Pan-India (for site visits and measurements)

Role Overview

Purpose:
To lead and coordinate the design function for Barbeque Nation outlets across India, ensuring alignment with brand standards, technical accuracy, and timely delivery of all drawings and BOQs. This role is instrumental in maintaining design consistency while optimizing feasibility, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure timely delivery of complete design drawings in accordance with defined brand guidelines and quality standards.
  2. Conduct project feasibility evaluations based on location and infrastructure parameters.
  3. Prepare initial technical feasibility assessments for all new outlet projects, with a focus on infrastructure requirements.
  4. Provide clear and prompt design clarifications to Project Managers to enable seamless execution without delays.
  5. Identify and document recurring design-related queries and incorporate learnings to improve future designs and reduce dependency on design coordination.
  6. Conduct on-site audits during and after execution to verify alignment with approved drawings and quality benchmarks.
  7. Submit detailed BOQs along with final approved drawing sets for every project.
  8. Evaluate architectural partners performance based on design accuracy and responsiveness; process payment approvals and maintain strong working relationships.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on restaurant/F&B interior design.
  • Prior experience with retail, hotel, or F&B chains is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to operational aspects of the F&B/service industry is a plus.
  • Proven track record of managing third-party consultants, architects, and external agencies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of interior fit-out works, MEP, HVAC, fire safety, lighting, and hardware networking systems.
  • Ability to perform F&B facility planning (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a critical and creative eye for design and branding aesthetics.
  • Effective technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Multilingual capability is an added advantage.
  • Capable of thriving in high-volume, fast-paced environments.

Financial Accountability

Manage project design delivery within approved budgets, in close coordination with the Head Projects & Maintenance and project teams.

Conditions of Work

  • Based out of Barbeque Nation Head Office, Bangalore.
  • Required to travel frequently to city and regional locations for site visits, assessments, and project oversight.
