South Asia Services Logistics Operations Leader

As a South Asia Services Logistics Operations Leader, you will lead a team of 2 members who are responsible for all logistic operations across multiple countries in South Asia region. The role involves overseeing various aspects of supply chain management including transportation, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and import/export compliance. This position requires strong leadership skills to ensure smooth functioning of logistics processes while adhering to regulatory requirements. Additionally, it involves developing strategies to optimize logistics costs and improve efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of logistics teams across South Asia region
• Oversee transportation, warehousing for consolidation, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and import/export compliance
• Develop strategies to streamline logistics processes and reduce costs
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and materials within budgeted targets
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to meet customer expectations
• Monitor performance metrics related to logistics operations
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulations
• Provide guidance and support to team members as needed
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve issues related to logistics
• Handle emergency situations effectively and efficiently

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding and courier logistics operations
• Proven experience collaborating with customs authorities, regulatory bodies including MoEF (Ministry of Environment and Forests), DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade), and working with Customs House Agents (CHA)
• Experience in monitoring and evaluating freight forwarder performance against service level agreements (SLAs)
• Strong knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain management principles
• Experience working in international markets with complex regulatory environments

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for managing diverse teams
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly
• Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and cost savings initiatives
• Familiarity with relevant technology platforms such as ERP systems, CRM software, etc.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze data and make informed decisions
• Adaptable attitude towards changing business needs and market trends
