Job Title: Sales Lead - Ecommerce, General Trade & Modern Trade

Reports To: Sales Director/CEO

Type: Full-time


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Lead to spearhead our sales efforts across Ecommerce, General Trade, and Modern Trade channels in the board game industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the sales processes in the gaming/toys industry, proven leadership capabilities, and a strategic approach to business growth. They will be responsible for driving revenue, expanding our distribution footprint, and optimizing the performance of our products across various sales channels.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Execution:

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Ecommerce, General Trade, and Modern Trade channels.

Establish sales targets, quotas, and performance benchmarks across all sales platforms.

Conduct regular market research to identify new opportunities, trends, and challenges.

Work closely with the marketing team to align sales initiatives with promotional activities and product launches.


Ecommerce Channel Management:

Lead the growth of sales through online platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, and other relevant marketplaces.

Develop and optimize digital sales strategies, including pricing, promotions, and customer acquisition/retention campaigns.

Monitor and analyze e-commerce metrics such as traffic, conversion rates, customer lifetime value, and return on ad spend (ROAS).


General Trade & Modern Trade Sales:

Build and maintain relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners across general trade and modern trade sectors.

Negotiate and manage contracts, pricing structures, and trade terms with retailers and distributors.

Identify new business opportunities and distribution channels to increase market penetration.

Regularly visit key accounts, oversee merchandising strategies, and ensure excellent in-store product placement.


Team Leadership & Collaboration:

Manage a sales team, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management.

Foster collaboration between sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure seamless execution of sales plans.

Report on sales performance, forecasting, and channel profitability to senior management.


Distribution & Logistics:

Coordinate with logistics partners and internal teams to ensure timely product availability and delivery across all channels.

Optimize supply chain processes and inventory management to meet demand across all sales platforms.


Brand & Customer Experience:

Ensure consistent brand messaging and customer experience across all touchpoints, both online and offline.

Monitor customer feedback, reviews, and inquiries, using insights to improve product and sales strategies.


Budgeting & Reporting:

Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for different channels.

Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze sales data, and adjust strategies based on real-time performance.

Manage trade marketing budgets and optimize return on investment (ROI) for promotions and partnerships.


Key Requirements:

Experience: 2-4+ years of sales experience, preferably in the board game, toys, or entertainment industry.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of Ecommerce, General Trade, and Modern Trade channels, particularly in the games/toys sector.

Negotiation Skills: Strong contract negotiation skills with a track record of building successful relationships with distributors and retailers.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data, sales trends, and customer insights to drive decision-making.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to present to key stakeholders and clients.

Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, CRM tools, and sales analytics software.

Passion: A deep passion for board games, tabletop gaming, and the broader gaming community is highly desirable.

Travel: Willingness to travel for sales meetings, trade shows, and retailer visits as required.
