We are seeking an Associate / Senior Associate Data Governance & Reporting to join our Operations team in Mumbai. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting, effective data management, and adherence to governance standards. The ideal candidate will have strong financial operations knowledge, experience with fund reporting, and advanced data handling skills.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Data Oversight

  • Produce and maintain accurate and timely reports including Fund KPIs, Client KPIs, Business Intelligence (BI), Management Information (MI), and AUM reporting.
  • Investigate, reconcile, and resolve data discrepancies across systems and sources.
  • Collaborate with teams to enhance report formats, automate workflows, and improve insight delivery.
  • Provide data and reporting support for internal stakeholders, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor receipt of fund information from administrators/3rd parties and follow up on non-receipt.
  • Map and format fund data files received from external parties for onward reporting.

Operational Processing

  • Maintain up-to-date records and systems supporting downstream reporting.
  • Participate in testing and implementation of system enhancements related to data and reporting.
  • Ensure all SLAs and regulatory deadlines are consistently met.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Adhere to internal controls and compliance standards for data quality and report publication.
  • Identify risks or gaps in reporting processes and support mitigation measures.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of reporting errors and support quality improvement initiatives.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Partner with internal teams to deliver data/reporting excellence.
  • Act as a point of reference or mentor for new joiners in the Data Operations team.
  • Support team leader in tracking KPIs, managing deadlines, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, or related field.

Experience & Skills

  • 1 - 6 years of experience in fund operations, financial reporting, or asset management.
  • Proven expertise in KPI and AUM reporting preferred.
  • Familiarity with fund structures (UCITS, AIFs), valuation methodologies, and NAV processes.
  • Strong data management, reconciliation, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), Power BI (preferred), PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work under tight deadlines.
