Role Overview

The Mushroom Farm Supervisor will oversee daily farming operations, including bag preparation, inoculation, incubation, cropping, harvesting, and packing. The role requires supervising staff, maintaining farm hygiene, monitoring environmental conditions, and ensuring that production and quality targets are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Farm Operations

  • Supervise substrate preparation, sterilization, inoculation, incubation, and cropping cycles.
  • Monitor temperature, humidity, ventilation, and hygiene across farm units.
  • Ensure timely harvesting, grading, and packing of mushrooms.
  • Minimize contamination and wastage through proper farm management practices.

Staff Supervision

  • Assign and monitor tasks for farm workers in production, harvesting, and packing.
  • Train workers in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), hygiene, and safety measures.
  • Maintain discipline, productivity, and time management of the workforce.

Production & Reporting

  • Maintain records of daily bag production, spawn usage, and mushroom yield.
  • Monitor quality of production and implement corrective measures where needed.
  • Report production performance, staff issues, and operational challenges to management.

Coordination & Logistics

  • Coordinate with logistics/packing team for timely dispatches.
  • Manage raw material inventory (substrate, spawn, packing items, chemicals).
  • Support management in planning production schedules as per market demand.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum: Plus two/Diploma
  • Age limit: 30-45 years
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as Supervisor in any company/ farm is preferred.
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively in Hindi (mandatory); knowledge of other local languages is a plus.
  • Valid Two-Wheeler/LMV Driving License with good driving skills (mandatory).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and record-keeping skills.
  • Physically fit to work in farm conditions (humid environment, standing for long hours).

Work Environment

  • Indoor farming unit with controlled humid conditions.
  • Requires supervision of staff across production, harvesting, and packaging areas.
  • May require shift work depending on farm schedule.
