Driver cum sales man

Role Overview

The Driver-cum-Salesman will be responsible for delivering mushroom spawn, fresh mushrooms, and related products to customers while also promoting sales, building relationships, and collecting payments. This role requires safe driving skills, experience in handling perishable goods, and strong customer service abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Logistics

• Safely operate company vehicles (two-wheeler/four-wheeler) for timely delivery of perishable products.
• Load, arrange, and unload mushroom spawn, bags, and fresh produce carefully to avoid damage.
• Maintain cold chain/storage requirements during transportation of sensitive items.
• Follow assigned routes and ensure deliveries are completed on time.

Sales & Customer Relations

• Promote mushroom spawn and fresh mushrooms to existing and potential customers.
• Leverage prior experience in selling perishable items to understand product handling and customer expectations.
• Collect payments (cash/UPI/cheques) and issue receipts as per company policy.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat sales.
• Gather customer feedback and update supervisors on market trends.

Vehicle & Records

• Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, brakes, tires, lights, cooling where applicable).
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure timely servicing.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries, payments collected, kilometers driven, and fuel usage.
• Report any delivery challenges, damages, or vehicle issues promptly.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum: Plus Two.
• Age: 30-50
• Valid Two-Wheeler and Four-Wheeler Driving License (Mandatory).
• 2–3 years' experience in sales and delivery of perishable items (FMCG, vegetables, dairy, meat, mushrooms, etc.).
• Good knowledge of local and regional routes.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Physically fit to handle loading/unloading of goods.
• Responsible, trustworthy, and disciplined in handling goods and cash.

Work Environment

• Field-based role with frequent travel.
• Involves handling perishable products that require timely delivery.
• May require working early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on demand.

Compensation & Benefits

• Fixed Salary: ₹18,000 per month.
• Sales incentives/commission based on performance (if applicable).
• Overtime allowance for long-distance trips.
• Uniform and safety gear provided.
• Meals/transport allowance as per company norms.
