This team supports the Leadership to make better business decisions while reducing costs and improving operational performance

Job description (About the Role)

The individual will be responsible for analyzing the FMCG industry and its consumer trends, developing long-term strategies for product categories, develops exit strategies for unsuccessful products, fosters relationships with vendors, determines product positioning, collaborates with marketing teams, and forecasts product demand. They are responsible for the overall management and profitability of a specific product category. Effective communication and a strong understanding of marketing and sales principles are essential.

Experience

Looking for candidates with 4-8 years of experience dealing with Biscuits as a Category Manager and have gained expertise in product market-fit, category strategy, revenue, and margin at a regional level in B2C retail or B2B retail.

Requirement & Skills

• Good understanding of Biscuits & relevant Segments in Retail/C&C/ECom/B2B

• Expertise in Category management and robust understanding at Category and Subcategory level.

• Experience of handling the Category for the cluster of states.

• Understand market and customer dynamics across multiple states in the country.

• Ability to collaborate across contributing functions in Buying, Supply Chain and Sales teams

• Excellent communication and people skills

• Master’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field

Job Specification

• Regular checks on sales/margin/inventory for better visibility and actionable insights.

• Review of competition Pricing/Assortment and highlight the results to buying team for better negotiation with vendors.

• Category strategy ensuring topline and bottom line in every market of operation

• Product catalog, pricing, margin delivery.

• Managing Inventory turns across all Warehouses of operation

• Customer insight generation, translation to product strategy and innovation
