The Director- Industry Relations, GCGC, will head the Career Fulfillment vertical and be responsible for providing career opportunities to GITAM students, including campus placements, internships and industry projects.
Roles & Responsibilities:Help develop/strengthen a robust Go-To-Market strategy and an outreach plan to promote GITAM as a preferred source of student talent among industrial and commercial enterprisesDiligently execute the GTM plan to actively engage with corporations and the industry across India, and in overseas markets where applicable, to secure and cultivate relationships with top recruiters of student talentDevelop partnerships with industrial houses and businesses to help build a sustainable pipeline of opportunities for quality internships, project work and entry-level jobs for students of all schools and streams at GITAM year after yearIdentify niche opportunities for premium talent and channel high-potential students for placements in high-end jobs and internshipsCoordinate with campus career services teams to ensure adherence to quality standards of student talent and recruitment processes and to earn and maintain customer delightRecruit, build and lead a high-performance team of front-end industry relations workforce, focused on sales, business development and territory/account management and aligned with the mission and values of the UniversityEstablish satellite offices as necessary and develop metrics and mechanisms to monitor their performance remotelyMaintain a constantly updated repository of all primary and secondary contacts, inherited or developed, along with all interactions and activities with each such contact in a University-provided databaseLeverage technology extensively to help run an efficient and transparent operation, and use analytics tools to aid in decision-makingBe accountable for quantity and quality outcomes in internships, project work, job placements and any additional performance criteria as defined by the University leadership, and deliver results on key metrics as communicatedPrepare and present periodic updates to leadership on ongoing activities and progress on performance criteriaWork closely with GITAM schools, academic departments and other internal stakeholders to ensure meaningful engagement and collaboration for effective outcomesBe available to take on additional responsibilities from time to time and to participate in overall University development activities as required by the leadership.
Skillset/Professional Background RequirementsA seasoned sales and business development executive experienced in selling high-value products or services into large and medium sized enterprisesExperience in, or exposure to campus placements/recruitment processes is highly desirableA proven track record in building relationships at the CXO levelConsistently high performer far beyond sales quotasProven experience in managing a territory or a region through a motivated teamAn outgoing person with excellent communication and team building skillsA deep understanding and insight into industry hiring trends, needs and requirementsWilling to travel up to 50% of the time
Educational Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent10+ years of relevant experience with at least five years managing a high performance sales team
A BRIEF ABOUT GITAMGITAM (Deemed to be University) established in 1980 as a main-campus based out of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
