Job DescriptionThe role of an Area Sales Manager is mid-level position within Olam Agri and the person will be responsible for driving & managing the sales, distribution & network management activities in a particular area. This role involves hands-on involvement in driving sales growth, relationship management to build & sustain distributor network & ability garner competitive information from the market.
Key DeliverablesSales & Distribution:
Drive the sales & distribution agenda / volumes in the assigned territory to work towards strengthening our share in the market. Also responsible for the timely payment collection from clients basis agreed credit terms.Market Development:
Assess market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify untapped opportunities and potential threats. Discuss & Develop market entry strategies for new product launches or expansion into new territories.New Customer Acquisition:
Identify potential customers and explore opportunities to expand the customer base in the region. Develop and maintain a network of contacts to generate new business leads. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify unique selling propositions for attracting new customers.Market Analysis:
The Area Manager needs to keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. This data to be shared ahead to assist in planning & adaption of sales strategy which ensure company remains competitive.Customer Relationship Management:
Building and maintaining relationships with all customers is vital. The Area Manager is the face of the organisation in front of the customer .Reporting and Analysis:
The Area Sales Manager prepares regular reports and analysis to provide insights into sales performance, market share & competitor pricing.Communication & Compliance:
Effective communication is essential, as they need to coordinate with various departments, including finance, logistics , operations to ensure a cohesive and customer-focused approach. Ensuring that all relevant laws , regulations, as well as company policies are followed .Adaptation to Change:
The sales landscape can change rapidly, so the Area Sales Manager needs to be adaptable and open to new technologies, strategies, and best practices to stay competitive.
RequirementsHas a strong sales background to be able to drive the sales & distribution agenda in the assigned territory.The incumbent should have proven experience as a “self starter” with a strong element of dynamism and the ability to move fast and get things done. He should have the stature and the maturity that commands the respect of his peers.Have an ownership mindset And desire to run the show Independently.Have good people management, communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
