Position Overview:
The Senior Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and expanding our client base within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically for APIs. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven experience in B2B sales, account management, and business development within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global API markets, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
Identify and target new business opportunities in global and regional pharmaceutical markets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, and regulatory) to meet customer requirements and deliver customized solutions.
Account Management and Client Relationships
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements while maintaining profitability and competitiveness.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues promptly.
Regulatory and Technical Expertise
Collaborate with regulatory and technical teams to ensure all API products meet international regulatory standards (e.g., USFDA, EMA, DMF filings).
Stay updated on global pharmaceutical regulations and industry trends to support customers and sales efforts effectively.
Sales Team Collaboration and Mentorship
Work closely with internal sales teams to develop lead generation pipelines and conversion strategies.
Mentor and guide junior team members to foster a high-performing sales culture.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Business Management , or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of API sales experience and 5-8 years within the pharmaceutical industry
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in international and domestic markets.
Strong understanding of global pharmaceutical supply chains, regulatory guidelines (USFDA, EMA, etc.), and customer requirements.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales pipeline management tools.
