Position Overview:

The Senior Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and expanding our client base within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically for APIs. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven experience in B2B sales, account management, and business development within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global API markets, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities in global and regional pharmaceutical markets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, and regulatory) to meet customer requirements and deliver customized solutions.


Account Management and Client Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements while maintaining profitability and competitiveness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues promptly.


Regulatory and Technical Expertise

  • Collaborate with regulatory and technical teams to ensure all API products meet international regulatory standards (e.g., USFDA, EMA, DMF filings).
  • Stay updated on global pharmaceutical regulations and industry trends to support customers and sales efforts effectively.


Sales Team Collaboration and Mentorship

  • Work closely with internal sales teams to develop lead generation pipelines and conversion strategies.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to foster a high-performing sales culture.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Business Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of API sales experience and 5-8 years within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in international and domestic markets.
  • Strong understanding of global pharmaceutical supply chains, regulatory guidelines (USFDA, EMA, etc.), and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales pipeline management tools.
