Key duties of the position include designing and implementing database structures, monitoring for performance issues, managing security policies, supporting data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and availability within the cloud environment.Responsibilities- Platform Management: Configure and maintain the Snowflake environment, including virtual warehouses, databases, and storage.- Performance & Optimization: Monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize resource usage for cost-efficiency and scalability.- Security & Compliance: Implement and manage security measures, including data encryption, access controls, and network policies, to ensure compliance.- Data Operations: Manage data loading, transformation, extraction (ETL/ELT) processes, and data governance.- User & Access Management: Create and manage user accounts, roles, and privileges to ensure secure and appropriate access to data assets.- Disaster Recovery: Plan, execute, and test disaster recovery strategies and data retention policies.- Automation: Develop and implement automation for production deployments and routine database tasks.- Collaboration: Work with data engineers, analysts, and IT teams to provide solutions, support data-related activities, and integrate Snowflake with other tools.- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor database availability, performance, and query logs, and provide support to resolve issues.Key Skills and Qualifications- Snowflake Expertise: Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices.- SQL Proficiency: Deep knowledge of SQL for querying, data management, and performance tuning.- Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS) and cloud cost management.- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash and experience with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.- Data Security: Knowledge of data security, encryption, access controls, and compliance frameworks.- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.- Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
