Job Description for Taxation - Manager (Direct & Indirect) - CA is a MUST

Job location : Mumbai

Reporting to : GM - Accounts

Key purpose of the job : The Taxation Manager oversees all aspects of the organization's tax compliance, planning, and reporting. This position is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all applicable tax laws and regulations while minimizing tax liabilities. The Taxation Manager will develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's financial performance and mitigate risks associated with taxation.

Key Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:

- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all required tax returns, including income tax, GST, and other relevant taxes.

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure the organization's compliance with all applicable tax requirements.

- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to address any tax-related inquiries or audits.

- Ensure Proposer Assessment of all group companies, must require knowledge of Tax Assessment (Appeal, CIT Appeal, ITAT Appeals etc.)

Tax Planning:

- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the organization's tax liabilities while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

- Analyze the potential tax implications of business decisions and provide recommendations to optimize tax outcomes.

- Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiency improvements through strategic planning and structuring.

Risk Management:

- Assess and mitigate tax risks associated with the organization's operations, transactions, and investments.

- Implement internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and mitigate potential tax-related risks.

Tax Research and Analysis:

- Conduct research on complex tax issues, including new legislation, rulings, and regulations, to assess their impact on the organization.

- Provide guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on tax-related matters, including the tax implications of business initiatives and transactions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to ensure alignment of tax strategies with overall business objectives.

- Communicate effectively with senior management and other departments to provide insights and recommendations on tax-related matters.

- CA

- 3-6 years of experience

- Adjustable to business requirements & accounting processes.

- Knowledge of ERP system

- Extremely strong fundamentals in accounting

- Excellent multi-tasking skills

- Good written & oral communication skills

- Team-orientation with an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
