Sr GM, Engineering Design and Development

Engineering Design & Development manager for charging stations is typically responsible for managing team towards achieving organization goals related to design, development, and industrialization of charging stations and other battery dispensing solutions, complete relevant documentation for effective installation, operation and maintenance of charging stations and its related systems and hand over. Work spans various activities spanning from continuous improvement in existing products to design and develop new products based on organization needs.


Key responsibilities:

  • End to end responsibility of design, development, and industrialization of charging stations and other dispensing solutions.
  • Understand all requirements, Design, Develop and implement features, complying with engineering and regulatory standards and procedures for charging stations.
  • Supervising and coordinating with cross functional teams towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Continuous improvement of products in field with updated features that create customer and business value.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues of products in field.
  • Evaluate and optimize performance, efficiency and cost as well as other business goals of charging stations.
  • Prepare and manage budgets & schedules with program management support.
  • Create multiple concepts to achieve business goals, carry out feasibility analysis, and drive to implement the optimal one.
  • Guide team towards creation and handling of all design and development related processes and documents like, defining SoR, DFMEA, DVP, DF’X’, Interface sign off, prototyping etc.
  • Reporting and documenting project progress and outcomes.


Key requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechatronics engineering from premier institutes
  • ~20 years of experience in engineering products from scratch & team management
  • Design & Engineering of substation, Switchyard, and Transmission line up to 110KV as per Indian grid code, Product line of converters , Inverters , Battery chargers , VCU, TCMS , LTO Battery for all type of Train and EV - On road / Off road , Energy Storage system (ESS).
  • Ability to guide multi-disciplinary team comprising members of various streams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
