Role Overview:

- The Manager - Supplier Quality (Solar) will be the strategic leader responsible for safeguarding the quality, reliability, and compliance of all components and materials procured for solar energy projects, including modules, inverters, mounting structures, cables, and ancillary systems.

- This role requires a strong command of supplier qualification, audit management, quality systems implementation, and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure flawless execution of large-scale solar programs.

- The incumbent will work cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to embed quality excellence across the supply chain, enhance supplier capabilities, and maintain adherence to global and regional regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Supplier Quality Leadership:

- Develop, implement, and continuously refine supplier quality management strategies aligned with solar business objectives and project performance targets.

- Define and enforce quality criteria in collaboration with procurement and engineering, ensuring supplier contracts reflect robust quality and compliance clauses.

Supplier Qualification & Performance Management:

- Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and approval processes, including capability assessments, risk analysis, and qualification audits.

- Conduct regular supplier audits (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IEC, UL, BIS) to ensure adherence to internal specifications and international standards.

- Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics such as PPM (Parts Per Million), NCR (Non-Conformance Reports), OTIF (On-Time-In-Full), and delivery defect rates.

Quality Assurance & Control:

- Oversee incoming inspection and quality control protocols for supplier-delivered components.

- Implement RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes for supplier-related issues, ensuring rapid resolution and recurrence prevention.

- Collaborate with engineering teams during NPI (New Product Introduction) phases to qualify new components and develop incoming quality plans.

Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with industry-specific certifications and standards for solar components (IEC 61215, IEC 61730, IEC 62930, UL, BIS, RoHS, REACH, etc.).

- Manage supplier quality risks through proactive mitigation plans and alignment with corporate sustainability and ESG guidelines.

Continuous Improvement & Supplier Development:

- Drive supplier development programs using Lean Six Sigma and APQP methodologies to improve process capabilities, reduce defects, and enhance cost efficiency.

- Champion continuous improvement culture both internally and within the supplier network.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or related discipline) required.

- MBA degree in, Quality Management, or Supply Chain 10+ years in supplier quality management, with at least 5 years in solar or renewable energy manufacturing/supply chain.

- Proven track record in supplier audits, quality systems implementation, and cross-border supplier management.

Technical Competencies:

- Deep knowledge of solar industry standards and component-level certifications.

- Expertise in quality tools and methodologies: PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt preferred).

- Proficiency in ERP/QMS platforms and advanced reporting tools (SAP, Oracle, MES, Power BI, etc.).
