Job Title: Assistant Manager - Human Resources


The Assistant Manager - Human Resources in a manufacturing company plays a key role in supporting the HR Team in managing all aspects of human resources functions within the manufacturing environment. They assist in developing and implementing HR policies, programs, and initiatives that align with organizational objectives while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

 

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including job posting, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including orientation, training, and integration into the manufacturing environment.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist in fostering a positive work culture and promoting employee engagement initiatives within the manufacturing plant.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Performance Management:

  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback sessions.
  • Assist in identifying performance issues and developing performance improvement plans in collaboration with managers.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on performance-related matters.

Training and Development:

  • Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies relevant to the manufacturing industry.
  • Identify training needs based on performance evaluations, skill gaps, and organizational objectives.
  • Assist in implementing career development initiatives to support employee growth and retention.

Compensation and Benefits Administration:

  • Assist in administering compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews, bonuses, and incentives.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws and regulations, including prevailing wage requirements in the manufacturing sector.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.

HR Compliance and Policies:

  • Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to the manufacturing environment.
  • Stay updated on labor laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the manufacturing sector.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including safety regulations and OSHA requirements.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or HR certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in HR roles within the manufacturing industry, with a solid understanding of its unique challenges and requirements.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and compliance standards relevant to the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and MS Office applications.
