Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Development Manager with 12 to 15 years of experience to lead and support our sales organization in the Goa region. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in translating and implementing the Business Unit (BU) strategy at the regional/territory level.


This role demands strong leadership in strategic planning, achieving quantifiable business results, fostering a High-Performance Sales Organization, and maintaining active engagement with key executive-level customers. A strong technical understanding of elevators/escalators is essential.

Key Leadership & Planning:

- Lead or support the sales organization to achieve and/or exceed sales objectives, aligning with the organization's overall business goals.

- Drive the translation and implementation of the Business Unit (BU) strategy into the regional/territory Operating Unit (OU).

- Conduct comprehensive strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the Development (High-Performance Sales):

- Ensure the Sales Organization develops into a High-Performance Organization through active involvement in the hiring, coaching, training, development, and retention of key staff.

- Initiate and oversee the implementation of performance improvement initiatives in coordination with the BU/OU.

- Drive and coach Sales Management systematics within the organization (e.g., pipeline review, performance review, war room projects, KPI/OLI review).

Business Results & Accountability:

- Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of both quantitative business results (e.g., Operating Income (OI), OI Gross Margin (GM)) and qualitative results (e.g., Net Promoter Score (NPS), Attrition rate, KPI/OLI benchmarks).

Customer & Market Engagement:

- Engage in active interaction with key customers at the executive or senior level to support the Sales Representatives.

- Coordinate cross-regional sales activities, including Regional accounts and cross-border business opportunities.

- Coordinate with BU/OU marketing on customer activities (customer events, product launches, speeches).

- Regularly collect market information to maintain and update the internal Market Intelligence system.

Process Optimization:

- Drive process simplification initiatives to maximize "Air time" with customers for Sales Representatives, boosting overall sales Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. MBA Preferred.

Experience: 12 to 15 years of professional experience, preferably in sales leadership or business development within the B2B industrial or capital equipment sector.

Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of the technical details of elevators/escalators is required.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, partners, and internal teams.

Market Understanding: Good understanding of the local market dynamics in Goa and the surrounding region.

Relationship Building: Strong ability to build, develop, and maintain professional relationships with clients and key stakeholders at senior levels.

Preferred Skills: Proven track record of leading and mentoring a sales team. Experience with global sales coordination or regional account management.
