Position Overview:

The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the automotive company, ensuring that all processes run efficiently and meet the company’s quality and performance standards. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing, supply chain management, and operational excellence. The Operations Manager will be responsible for optimizing resources, managing production schedules, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing and supply chain functions, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth supply chain, from procurement of raw materials to the delivery of finished products.
  • Production Planning & Control: Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization, minimizing downtime, and ensuring consistent product quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all operations comply with automotive industry standards and regulations, including safety, quality, and environmental requirements. Implement and monitor quality control processes.
  • Cost Management: Oversee budgets and financial planning for the operations department, identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining high standards of productivity and quality.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, engineers, and operators, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, implementing policies to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring that raw materials and finished products are managed efficiently to avoid shortages or excesses.
  • Technology Integration: Drive the adoption of new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency, data tracking, and process automation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to implement lean manufacturing principles and other operational improvement methodologies to enhance overall plant performance.
  • Vendor & Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with key suppliers and service providers, ensuring optimal pricing, delivery schedules, and quality of materials.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, production planning, and quality control principles.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive performance through continuous development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving operational efficiency.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, production software, and other operations management tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in operations management is preferred.
