The PreSales Solution Architecture will lead the solution architecture team and play a crucial role in Presales activities, management of the team, and overseeing business analysis functions. This position requires flexibility in working hours based on project and client demands, including occasional travel to other offices and customer locations.

The primary focus of this role is to drive the development and implementation of complex technical solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with our strategic goals. You will work closely with customers, internal teams, and third-party vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects and maintain high standards of solution design and implementation.


Context/Environment:

We are hiring a PreSales Solution Architecture to lead the team responsible for designing and implementing solutions for our diverse customer base. This role will oversee projects ranging from existing customer 'business as usual' enhancements to new large-scale, fully managed service implementations.

You will be required to engage with VP-level executives, functional/operational business owners, and clients to ensure that solutions are designed, documented, and maintained to meet all stakeholder requirements. The candidate will provide strategic direction on all technical aspects of solutions and facilitate best practices across the organization.


Main Responsibilities:

Oversee and participate in Presales activities, working closely with the sales team to develop compelling technical solutions that address customer needs and differentiate our client in the market.

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams.

Guide the creation of high-level solution designs and detailed functional specifications that align with customer requirements, project timelines, and business objectives.

Ensure that all solutions adhere to industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in the finance and retail banking sector.

Collaborate with wider teams across our client’s organization to align solution architectures with the company's overall technical strategy and product roadmap.

Oversee the business analysis function, ensuring that detailed requirements are captured, documented, and translated into effective solution designs.

Manage the solution design process, including the creation and maintenance of architecture diagrams, process flows, and other technical documentation.

Work closely with the Professional Services project delivery team to ensure successful implementation of designed solutions.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making and solution innovation.

Provide thought leadership and represent our client at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.

Oversee the management of technical risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, working with project managers to develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure that all solution documentation is stored, managed, and version-controlled in agreed central repositories, utilizing tools such as Teams, Visio, Jira, and Confluence.

Drive continuous improvement in solution design processes, methodologies, and tools.


Person Specification

Essential:

8+ years of experience in solution architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

Extensive experience in the finance and retail banking sector, particularly in automated cash solutions (ATMs) and associated cash management processes

Strong track record of successful Presales engagements and solution design for large-scale, complex projects

In-depth understanding of relevant banking industry compliance requirements (EMV, Mastercard/Visa, PCI)

Excellent leadership and team management skills

Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization

Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities

Advanced knowledge of solution design methodologies and tools

Proficiency in MS Office applications, Visio, and project management tools


Desirable:

Experience with managed services delivery environments and associated solution architectures

Knowledge of Agile methodologies and their application in solution design and delivery

Familiarity with cloud technologies and their integration into financial services solutions

Relevant industry certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure)

Experience using Jira and Confluence for project and knowledge management

MBA or other relevant advanced degree
