The Audience Development Manager for Architectural Digest India reports to the Global Director ofAudience Development, Analytics & Social, and implements audience growth and content distribution strategies that extend the reach and amplification of content, particularly across, SEO, email, social, partnerships, and other multi-platform channels.


This role is responsible for delivering audience growth and ensuring the brand retains its leadership position in the competitive landscape. The ideal candidate has experience partnering with Edit, Product, Video, and Commercial teams. They will be a clear communicator and show sound judgment.


This role is also part of a community of Aud Devs, Analysts, and Social teams dedicated to Architectural Digest globally. The right candidate is passionate about digital media and will sit alongside editors and be pivotal in enabling the success of this team.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Global Aud Dev & Social strategy, adapting it for the market and culture. The strategy will be multiplatform, including but not limited to website, search, newsletter, social, partnerships, and video.
  • Work to meet KPIs for AD India and ensure goals are met consistently throughout the year.
  • Implement SEO strategies including but not limited to evergreen updates, content refreshes, keyword research, and maintain day-to-day best practices with the editorial team.
  • Master the site’s web analytics and existing acquisition tools, and excel at identifying growth opportunities based on data and industry trends.
  • Execute the distribution strategy for newsletters, working with the editorial teams on newsletter content curation, A/B tests, and other variables to optimize results.
  • Partner with editorial teams to achieve editorial excellence across our newsletter products, focusing on voice, originality, and accuracy. The right candidate will also know how to incorporate strong visuals—illustration, graphic design, and photography—into our newsletters and will have sharp ideas about how to make them more engaging to our readers.
  • Analyze social engagement data, identifying social trends in audience interactions and planning digital campaigns to build community online.
  • Provide actionable insights to content teams daily, monthly, and quarterly so editors understand what’s resonating – and what’s not resonating.
  • Support the execution of distribution strategies for global and local stories (cover reveals, cover interviews, tentpole events).
  • Collaborate with teams to strengthen consumer revenue and commercial initiatives (such as memberships, events, and commerce).
  • Identify new content, platform, and marketing opportunities based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence, and consumer insight.


Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, digital advertising agency or online marketing, advertising, or publishing organization, with a thorough understanding of online business models and strategies.
  • Proven ability to grow audiences through SEO, social media, and newsletters.
  • Inspirational and effective line management skills, with a knack for finding inefficiencies and creating collaborative workflows.
  • Experience with Sailthru (or a similar ESP), Parse.ly, and Google Analytics (or a similar analytics platform).
  • Previous experience in successfully creating, executing, and analyzing A/B test strategies across platforms.
  • Ability to articulate clearly and present to editorial colleagues and all levels of management.
  • Entrepreneurial, and digitally savvy, with exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
