About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Retail to lead and drive the retail strategy for our growing network of over 500+ stores across India. This role is critical in shaping the future of the organization by optimizing retail operations, ensuring profitability, and spearheading strategic initiatives to take the company to the next level.


Key Responsibilities:

Retail Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive retail strategy aligned with business objectives to achieve sustainable growth.
  • Drive store expansion plans, including identifying key markets and ensuring timely launches.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of 500+ stores, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Enhance in-store customer experiences by leveraging technology, training, and strong operational processes.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate regional and store-level teams to achieve sales and operational targets.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and customer service excellence.

Sales & Profitability:

  • Drive top-line revenue growth and profitability through effective P&L management.
  • Implement initiatives to optimize inventory, reduce costs, and enhance store productivity.

Customer Experience & Brand Positioning:

  • Strengthen the brand’s retail presence and customer experience across diverse markets.
  • Monitor customer feedback and NPS to develop strategies for improving service quality and satisfaction.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and VM teams to ensure a cohesive approach to retail performance.
  • Act as a bridge between store-level feedback and senior leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Utilize analytics and retail metrics to drive insights and improvements in sales, footfalls, conversion rates, and basket size.
  • Implement tech-driven solutions to enhance retail operations and decision-making.


Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience & Expertise:

  • 20+ years of proven experience in retail, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale retail operations.
  • Strong background in retail operations, business development, and financial management.

Leadership Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage change, and drive high-impact outcomes.
  • Adept at navigating and thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Strategic & Analytical Thinking:

  • Experience in driving growth strategies, implementing turnarounds, and scaling retail operations.
  • Proficiency in analyzing retail metrics and deriving actionable insights.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Experience in a promoter-driven organization is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ethnic wear, fashion retail, or lifestyle segments is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong focus on customer-centricity, innovation, and team collaboration.
