Job Title: Procurement Manager

Job Description:

- Seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee the acquisition of materials, focusing on raw materials such as fabricated steel structures, steel sections, paint, consumables ,fasteners, and any other manufactured goods. Responsibilities include sourcing vendors, obtaining quotations, verifying specifications, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement processes to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project budgets.

Responsibilities/Duties:

- Source vendors for raw materials, primarily steel sections, paint, consumables, and fasteners.

- Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate contracts, and finalize purchase orders.

- Verify material specifications with engineering teams and ensure compliance.

- Manage procurement processes, including vendor relationships and payments.

- Monitor project budgets and control expenses related to procurement activities.

Key Skills Required:

1. Procurement Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.

2. Material Knowledge: Strong understanding of raw materials, particularly steel sections, paint, consumables, and fasteners, including their specifications and usage in manufacturing processes.

3. Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate favourable terms, including pricing, credit terms, and contract conditions, with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.

4. Technical Understanding: Familiarity with engineering specifications and project requirements to verify material suitability and compliance.

5. Vendor Management: Ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with vendors, including timely payment processing and effective conflict resolution.

6. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the manufacturing sector, including industry trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement, particularly in the steel procurement domain.

7. Financial Acumen: Solid grasp of financial principles to manage project budgets, control expenses, and optimize procurement costs.

8. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

9. Organization and Prioritization: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

10. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in verifying material specifications, drafting contracts, and managing procurement documentation.

11. Problem-solving: Proficiency in identifying and resolving procurement-related issues promptly to minimize disruptions to project timelines.
