This unique opportunity invites an experienced CFO to lead the accounting and finance department of a prestigious real estate development company in Pune. The CFO will be responsible for strategic financial planning and management to drive the company's growth and will play a crucial role in guiding the company through the IPO process.

Our client is a well-established Real Estate Developer based out of Pune with projects across varied asset classes. The company is renowned for its consistent growth in the real estate industry.

Description

Responsible for providing strategic direction and financial guidance to the organization by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing financial and accounting policies, procedures and controls, in-line with established international practices and standards; Ensuring availability of funds to smoothly execute business plan; Implementation of sound financial management paradigms to maximize returns on investments cash-flow, optimizing capital structure and minimizing risk exposure for the various projects/ SPVS.

  • Accounting & Taxation - Develop / enhance implementation of internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures relating to financial controls, expenses and other general accounting.
  • Develop / enhance practices and procedures and maintain accounting principles, to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Monitor compliance with set accounting and reporting standards as well as internal control systems defined to ensure timeliness and accuracy of accounting for various SPVs/ Projects
  • Ensure timely consolidation of books of accounts
  • Drive financial planning for the short, medium and long term, working closely with the Leadership Team, Project Heads and Functional teams
  • Participate in the budgeting exercise of various businesses and ensure the budgets are signed off by the management as per timelines.
  • Undertake review and analysis of various financial statements (Balance sheet and income statement) on a periodic basis to validate the reports prepared and identify and correct anomalies, if any.
  • Monitor the preparation of yearly final accounts (profit and loss statement and balance sheet) in line with statutory accounting requirements
  • Develop / Update Standard Operating Procedures on taxation related matters and design systems and processes to ensure efficiency in tax planning
  • Ensure compliance with tax authority regulations and laws by reviewing & assessing computations to ensure that the taxes for the various SPVs/ Projects are accurately calculated and returns timely filed (Income tax, GST, etc.) to avoid penalties
  • Undertake periodic Tax Planning exercises and carry out comprehensive analysis of any changes in the tax framework (in consultation with Tax advisor, legal team, etc.) to ensure tax optimization for the organization
  • Continuously monitor updates in tax laws to identify opportunities for relief and adapt existing practices to optimize tax level
  • Provide update/ respond to queries to the Board on the financial health of the organization as per the accounting statements
  • Optimize debt and working capital funding structures for minimum interest cost to the business
  • Monitor cash flows to ensure healthy liquidity and short term sustainability of the company and take necessary measures to ensure availability of working capital for various projects
  • Identify and secure long-term and short-term financing for various projects depending upon business requirements ensuring favourable cost of capital
  • Drive short, medium and long term financial planning for various projects for all business units working with all relevant stakeholders
  • Formulate and drive implementation of the treasury strategy to meet requirements of individual businesses and ensure alignment with strategic growth targets
  • Maximize returns from treasury dealings while ensuring that the organization's position is safeguarded against risks Fund Raising & Investor Relations:
  • Fund raising through QIP, PE and other institutional investors as required.
  • Creation & implementation of strategic investor relations program, which includes target plans to encourage a long-term and stable investor base.
  • Drive quarterly reporting process to the investor community, including development of key metrics and relevant message documents.
  • Lead investor meetings, conferences, road shows, Investor Day and miscellaneous projects. Audit:
  • Develop a risk-based internal audit plan to audit critical financial reporting and evaluate other risk exposures, safeguard the company from all risks and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Ensure execution of the internal audit plan across the businesses.
  • Ensure all Internal Audit reports are clear, concise, help identify root causes with practical solutions, and ultimately provide value to management.
  • Enhance SOPs post assessing the various financial & non-financial risks and ensure implementation

Profile

A successful CFO should have:

  • Over 15 years of overall experience in financial management at a senior level/CFO
  • Open to Pune as a location
  • Candidate should come with experience of working in the real estate industry/Hospitality/PE Fund
