Organization Description: Jaipur Rugs is a social enterprise that connects rural craftsmanship with global markets through its luxurious handmade carpets. It is a family run business that offers an exclusive range of hand-knotted and hand-woven rugs made using 2500 years old traditional art form.


The founder, Mr. Nand Kishore Chaudhary created a unique business model, which provides livelihood to the artisans at their doorstep. This changed the standard practice of involving middlemen to work with artisanal communities. The company currently has a network of over 40,000 artisans spread across 600 rural Indian villages in five states of India. It has an end-to-end business model, right from sourcing of wool to exporting a finished handmade rug.


The modern and eclectic collection of rugs, made using the finest wool and silk, has won numerous global awards and is currently exported to more than 45 countries with the US sales arm, Jaipur Living, Inc. located in Georgia, Atlanta.


Job Description: The specific responsibilities of the position holder will be (though not restricted to) the following:


Videographer -

  • Capturing product photographs for story formation.
  • Should be able to do lifestyle shoots, living shots and portraits.
  • Should do rural photography, assisting the team for capturing stories from the grassroots.
  • Managing, organizing and handling the entire editing of photographs.


Photographer -

  • Will shoot footage and assist in editing.
  • Will accomplish the bulk of the technical tasks related to production and post-production.
  • Will transport, set up, and operate equipment; and assist with staging and set preparation
  • Will work closely with the marketing team to execute the concept through to completion.
  • Operates and maintains proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment
  • Researching, writing and shooting stories of artisans
  • Helps to sustain and guide creative process
  • Assists in developing interview questions and storyboards

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

  • Should have interest in Product Photography and knowledge of handling a DSLR camera.
  • Knowledge of basics of designs i.e. Colors, layout, grids and eye for details.
  • Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, In Design, and Adobe Premier Pro and after effects and FCP is must.
  • Knowledge about basic database management will be expected.
  • He should have command over English and Hindi Language both in verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in working with MS Office - Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, and Web Research
  • Exposure to Social Enterprise Networks and Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships for Development
