Sales Engineer

Job Purpose:
To identify, develop, and manage business opportunities for poles (lighting poles, transmission poles, streetlight poles, or related infrastructure products). The Sales Engineer will be responsible for achieving sales targets, managing client relationships, and providing technical support to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development
- Identify and develop new customers in the target markets — EPC contractors, government departments, municipalities, and infrastructure companies.
- Generate leads through site visits, cold calls, networking, and participation in industry events.
- Prepare and submit quotations, technical proposals, and tenders in coordination with the design and estimation team.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to achieve sales objectives.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers for repeat and referral business.
- Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
- Follow up for order closures, delivery schedules, and payment collection.
3. Technical Support
- Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure the product meets customer specifications.
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to clients, including site visits and installation guidance if needed.
4. Market Intelligence
- Collect and report market information — competitor activities, pricing trends, and upcoming projects.
- Suggest new business opportunities and contribute to marketing strategies.
5. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and submit to management.
- Coordinate internally with production, logistics, and accounts for timely order execution and dispatch.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; or any graduate with technical aptitude.
- Experience: 2–6 years in sales of industrial or infrastructure products (preferably poles, lighting, or structural steel).
- Location: Based in Bangalore; must be willing to travel across South India.
