Purpose of the Role

The Senior Commercial Manager, APAC will report to the Finance Director, APAC, who is based in Mumbai. This role entails providing valuable financial analysis and insights to support the APAC Leadership Team in driving commercial and strategic outcomes.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with Agency, Client Partners, Sales & Marketing to ensure that commercially feasible pricing agreements are achieved, benefiting both our organization and our clients.

Responsibilities include planning, developing, and executing commercial strategies aligned with company objectives to foster growth. Additionally, tasks may involve market research, analysis, and the creation of business plans for commercial opportunities.

With the business undergoing an exciting transformation towards strategic growth, this role will play a vital part in enhancing the FP&A business partnering capabilities of the regional finance team, along with modernizing existing reporting processes and standards across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing pricing strategies, models, and scenario analyses to support commercially viable deals across APAC markets
  • Leading the contracting, commercial, and compliance aspects of the business
  • Conducting market and client profitability assessments, as well as formulating fee proposals
  • Creating automated reporting tools and templates for new business initiatives, including responses to clients' Requests for Information and Proposals
  • Offering commercial finance support and analysis for informed decision-making and profitable growth
  • Translating intricate financial calculations into actionable strategies for teams
  • Contributing to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function when required
  • Handling ad hoc tasks as they arise

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Exposure:

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial finance experience, preferably within a marketing agency
  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Business with CPA/CA/ICWA or equivalent qualifications
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel (including macros, VBA), PowerPoint, ability to construct financial models, conduct sensitivity analyses, design reporting tools, and present findings in management meetings
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc., is a plus

  • Excellent communicator comfortable engaging with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders, locally and regionally; adept at collaborating across all management and employee levels
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced business environment concerning reporting obligations while ensuring high accuracy levels

Role Requirements:

  • Although the role's official hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm IST, Mon - Fri, the global nature of operations may necessitate engagements outside these hours.
  • This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence in Malad West as needed. Flexibility is key while maintaining high performance standards.
