Commodity Buyer Power Drive & Electricals (Regional)

For our Power Drive & Electricals Procurement category, we are looking for a regional Commodity Buyer.

You will be responsible to ensure the implementation of globally or regionally defined procurement strategies, as well as the right and best optimal project execution activities to be contracted to external suppliers with the aim to ensure profitability and targets achievement.

You will work in a global commodity team, being the preferred working location Mamandur, India.

How to contribute to our vision

Your key areas of responsibility will be:

  • Implement regional or global commodity strategies into local systems.
  • ECN / Project implementation: Managing the full sourcing process (RFPs, Negotiations and Supplier Awarding) under the framework of the global / regional strategy of the commodity.
  • Shortterm volume forecasting / planning alignment: Continuous dialogue and interaction with local plant and project planning.
  • Invoice approval in case of price deviations.
  • First support level in Procurement to SCL Expediting team in the shortages' management process.
  • Support to GCM & Global Commodity Buyers in the supplier management: Identification of potential suppliers, supplier evaluation, etc.
  • Support to GCM & Global Commodity Buyers in the commodity management: Generation of costout ideas, gathering of regional commodity KPIs, etc.


You will ensure usage of globally defined methods, processes and systems in order to ensure the efficiency and compliance of our processes.


You will create and maintain strong relationships with our internal customers and external suppliers, also ensuring that the right stakeholders are involved from the start of the various sourcing projects you are managing.

What you need to make a difference


We are looking for someone who has technical experience and has a business education at minimum bachelor level in Engineering, Business Administration or Economics.

Being familiar with common IT tools like the Office package or SAP is necessary. It is also preferably to have knowledge of S2C-/ P2P-processes.

We will value someone with great negotiation and communication skills, as well as strong people abilities.

You will be working closely with our stakeholders and suppliers, so being able to communicate clearly in English is a must.


Educational Qualification:
B.E / B. Tech / Business Administration / Economics

Overall years of experience:
> 7 years of experience in engineering, procurement and/or operations functions, ideally in a global organization.
