Manager, Strategic Communications

We seek a passionate individual to be part of our Strategic Engagement team. The officer will work closely in a partnership and engagement team to co-create measurable and impactful solutions for the community. The officer will be the main protocol officer that manages Muis' Senior Leadership in their strategic meetings with international partners and local stakeholders.
The officer will also provide support executing public relations and communication strategies for the organisation.
[What you will be working on]
Primary
- Lead the office in identifying, building and maintaining good relationships with local and international partners to co-create solutions for the community.
- Monitor and respond to developments in policies and programmes of strategic international partners.
- Support and co-ordinate protocol of inwards and outwards visits by high-profile international key personnel/delegates (meetings and logistic support, contribute to briefings, taking minutes, and any other relevant duties as required)
- Act as point of contact and assessing request from various stakeholders.
- Support and assist in any coordination of stakeholder engagement activities.
- Build and maintain excellent working relationship with internal stakeholders in order to be a credible advisor on partnership and opportunities.
- Accountable for evaluating and keeping stakeholder's database.
Secondary
- Support organisation's media outreach strategy through developing, writing and editing communication materials.
- Establish and maintain effective relationship with members of media, as well as maintaining media database.
- Respond to media enquiries, arrange interviews and act as media contact for the organisation.
[What we are looking for]
- Tertiary education with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience,
- Demonstrable interest in international affairs/policy will be an advantage, as will knowledge on community and religious issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster international collaborations and intercultural communication.
- Track record of working in face-paced office environment supporting senior colleagues and working independently on guided projects.
- Skills in the strategies of engagement and impactful communication.
- Good command of written English and Malay, as well as the ability to research and prepare high quality briefings and analytical reports.
- Good command of Arabic will be advantageous.
Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.
